Golden Dreams Beyond the Quiet Rain

Even when I close my eyes,

Golden dreams remain;

Even when I open them,

They shimmer through the quiet rain.

***

Amid the rolling hills of green,

Where ancient stones convene,

My heart still wanders down that lane,

Through every cherished scene.

***

Once, beneath a flowering tree,

I waited, longing for you to appear;

Unseen by all, you climbed its boughs,

And scattered blossoms through the air.

Like a shower of petals, soft and free,

They fell beneath the whispering trees.

***

Beneath the silver moon, on a golden holiday night,

I swayed upon the swinging vine in the fading light.

You pushed me from behind, your laughter wild and free,

Then tumbled me into the grass-a moment still with me.

***

At the edge of the quiet field, where the chapel bells rang low,

Your anklets chimed like silver streams as you danced to and fro.

You tossed a sacred blossom, then beckoned with a smile;

And standing there before you, my heart trembled all the while.

***

Though thatched-roof homes have vanished, and the fields have slipped away,

Though phantom music fades into the shadows of the day,

Their tender echoes linger still across the twilight glades,

Like whispers of a vanished world beneath the dusky shades.

***

Now I carry a thousand memories in a heart that weeps alone,

And swim an endless sea of tears, with no shore to call my own.

The world we knew lies far behind, beyond the reach of time;

Yet every lost and golden dream still lives in this heart of mine.

***

Where will you wander now? What path will you pursue,

As time carries us onward, beneath a sky no longer blue?

Our golden nest of dreams is lost, our world of wonder gone;

Yet in my heart, your memory glows, like dusk that lingers on.

***

Even when I close my eyes,

Golden dreams remain;

Even when I open them,

They bloom beyond the quiet rain.
