Journey Beyond the Twilight

My hair turns silver, teeth decay beneath the moon,

My eyes grow dim, my hands now falter in the gloom,

The taste of honey fades; no scent can lift my head.

My strength deserts my frame, each motion slow and weak,

The world drifts past my eyes, yet none can touch or speak,

Words break in fragments lost, my mind drifts far away.

I feel as light as feather, rising from the earth,

I see the dead appear, and guides of Yama near,

Those I love now seem unseen as I depart the world.

The air is cold and still, the shadows close around,

I hear no earthly sound, yet inner voices pound,

The final hour draws near, my soul begins to lift.

I float beyond my skin, no weight within my chest,

My limbs no longer bind, my eyes seek endless rest,

The present world recedes, replaced by spectral dreams.

The guides of Yama come to lead me through the night,

I walk a path unknown, yet feel a sacred light,

Each breath a fading spark, yet peace begins to bloom.

The living linger close, but I cannot feel their gaze,

Familiar faces pass, lost in my departing haze,

I sense a gentle call that draws me to the void.

No fear remains within, my heart surrenders slow,

The worldly bonds release, and all attachments go,

My soul prepares to cross the threshold of the vast.

I step beyond the world, yet feel each duty done,

The guides of fate depart, their task has just begun,

In light and shadow both, my spirit soars at last.
