Wings of Resilience: A Hummingbird's Song
In the hush of dawn, I rise with the light,
my wings stirring the quiet air-
a small, iridescent flicker
against a world that often forgets to shine.
I am a hummingbird in flight-
small but fierce, delicate yet unbreakable,
a burst of vibrant color
threaded through the grayness of morning.
My heart beats like a tiny drum of fire,
my life a dance of quicksilver motion-
precise, fearless, purposeful.
I move from moment to moment
with a grace even I sometimes marvel at.
I drink from the blossoms of life,
tasting sweetness in fleeting seconds,
knowing beauty is fragile,
knowing time is brief,
and still-
I cherish every drop of the universe
held in a single sip of nectar.
Storms come for me too.
The wind pushes, the world trembles,
but still I rise above the chaos,
my wings shimmering with determination,
my spirit whispering to the sky
that I will not be grounded.
My laughter-the gentle hum of wings-
is a melody I offer freely,
lifting hearts, reminding anyone who listens
that even the smallest soul
can shake the air with power.
I bear scars beneath my shimmer,
silent stories of battles no one sees.
Yet I remain unbowed, unbroken-
because resilience is not the absence of pain,
but the courage to fly anyway.
In this fragile, fleeting dance,
I carry hope in tiny wings,
a living symbol of grace in motion,
of beauty and resilience intertwined.
And in my flight, I carry this truth for world:
Find sweetness even in hard places.
Take only what nourishes you.
Give back what beauty you can.
Let your size never limit your strength.
Know that every brief moment matters.
For in my shimmering heart,
in every beat of my wings,
there lives a universe-
and a spirit
that refuses
to be grounded.
