An Indian Rainbow

This Indian rainbow-yours and mine.

Sindoor red, my heart begins,

Like dawn upon the Himalaya’s crown,

Where silent peaks hold ancient prayers

And teach the rising sun to bow.

Saffron skies pour blessing light,

Like Kedarnath at break of day,

Faith glowing soft in mountain air,

Where love learns how to stay.

Haldi gold flows warm and kind,

Like Ganga’s healing, endless grace,

You wash my doubts, you calm my soul,

Till peace becomes our resting place.

Peacock blue moves through my veins,

Like Yamuna beneath the moon,

Your touch a song of quiet tides,

A monsoon humming into June.

Emerald dreams in paddy fields,

Like Brahmaputra wide and free,

With you I grow through fertile lands,

Rooted in what we’re meant to be.

Violet dusk falls slow and deep,

Like Narmada at twilight’s seam,

Where whispered vows and secret hopes

Drift gently through a shared dream.

Indigo wraps the velvet night,

Like oceans kissing Kerala’s shore,

Your love, a sea without an end,

Calling my heart forevermore.

In gulal hues our laughter flies,

Like Holi skies above the plains,

A thousand colors, one true bond,

Blooming bright after rain.

You are my rainbow after storm,

From mountain snow to saline sea,

Not just the land my eyes can trace,

But all of India inside me.

Forever dyed in sacred hues,

Like love etched deep in earth and sky,

In every shade, in every breath,

This rainbow lives-as you and I.
