Whispers of a Moon Girl
Night whispers softly, cloaking all in hush,
A velvet shroud where my silent fears blush.
Moon’s gentle gaze, patient and serene,
Holds stories I’ve never dared to mean.
A fragile box, filled with ache and sorrow,
Lies quiet beneath the starry glow.
Yet night, in its calm, softly pleads
“Let go,” it hums, “release your needs.”
Dark clouds gather, heavy and dense,
Veiling my hopes in their silent defense.
And I wonder,do others feel the same?
In this vast city, suffering’s a common name.
On crowded streets, in hurried flight,
I am a shadow lost in the night.
Exhausted, unseen, my silent scream,
Carries me away in a restless dream.
Under harsh lights, words cut deep,
Memories that haunt, wounds that seep.
Responsibilities mount, relentless, high,
While dreams of home drift and die.
A subtle surrender, a quiet fade,
In my mirror, a stranger’s gaze is made.
Love’s ghost lingers, a distant ache,
A tender wound that shadows wake.
Night responds, steady and wise,
“Many carry burdens, beneath the skies.
Wear your mask, hide your tears,
Conceal your pain, allay your fears.”
I turn from screens that dazzle and gleam,
Seek the quiet of this midnight dream.
Dawn will break, spilling light anew,
Washing away the night’s dark hue.
Must I be a beast, bound to the grind,
Lost in a cycle, unkind?
Even the sea’s mighty roar
Is swallowed by the city’s roar.
Yet within this darkness, a flicker remains
A stubborn flame that defies the pains.
Hope’s whisper, faint but true,
Promises dawn, and life anew.
