A Bell for All Humanity

The church bell booms, a solemn, ancient sound,
Calling souls to peace on hallowed ground.
The school bell rings, a joyous, sharp release,
Freedom echoing, a moment's sweet peace.
The ship's bell tolls, across the ocean wide,
Marking hours, with the turning tide.

A tiny sleigh bell, jingling, light, and free,
A whisper of pure joy for all to see.
The doorbell's chime, a welcome, soft and clear,
Announcing friendship, banishing all fear.
The warning bell, a frantic, urgent call,
A common fear that binds and touches all.

From carillon's grand song, to handbells' gentle grace,
Each note a thread, connecting time and space.
Through joy and sorrow, waking, sleep, and strife,
Bells mark the rhythm of our fragile life.
They speak a language, understood by all,
A silent promise, standing strong and tall.

And when the final bell begins to toll,
Not for one soul, but for the human whole,
May its deep echo, resonant and true,
Remind us all what love can see us through.
One shared existence, underneath the sky,
As bells unite us, till the final goodbye.

Then let us forge a future brave and bright,
Where bells ring not for war, but shared delight.
Let justice chime from every tower and steeple,
And freedom echo in the hearts of people.
Let bells of healing ring through every land,
Guided by hope and every outstretched hand.

For though the clapper swings with rise and fall,
Its voice remains—a memory for all.
A bell once rung lives on in air and stone,
A song of us: no one stands alone.
So ring them loud, let every peal proclaim—
We lived, we loved, and bore a common name.
