Worlds Apart, Yet Yearning

I have a world unseen by you, a space within,

Where silent chambers hold my fears and kin.

Each hidden corner, a familiar, steadfast keep,

Where unspoken longings softly drift and sleep.

And you possess a realm with doors I cannot breach,

Though I may call, they stay beyond my reach.

You are the sovereign there, your will the only law,

Your gaze, its source, remains a mystery, drawing awe.

No shared domain we truly find, where voices blend,

Our dialogues begin and cease where words extend.

Sharing, harmony, the limits we define,

Are questions raised in solitudes, a fractured line.

In solitary worlds we build, each brick our own,

A common pathway to traverse is unknown.

Yet in this separate crafting, does a longing reside,

To bridge the gulf and stand together, side by side?

Perhaps if doors were opened, just a crack, you see,

Our disparate worlds might find a unity.

A space created where no shadows hold their sway,

Where shared desires illuminate a brighter day.

I have a world

Built from thoughts, filled with dreams.

You have a world

Shaped by your vision, ruled by your rules.

We have no world

Is it because we think too differently?

Or because we fear to share?

Or… because we’ve realized we are not one?
