The Fire's Silent Cry

I was born of friction, a whispered grace,
A dance of light in a shadowed space.
You called me soul, you called me might,
The very essence of your inward light.
From hearths where stories gently spun,
To sun-kissed altars, setting free the sun,
I was your breath, your sacred vow,
A cleansing touch on a furrowed brow.

My warmth embraced the newborn's cry,
Kissed lovers' cheeks beneath the sky.
I simmered low in pots of stew,
And lit the path for me and you.
I sealed your letters, fraught with care,
And purified your whispered prayer.
My flicker promised trust and grace,
A tranquil solace in time and space.

But then, the whisper turned to roar,
A hunger gnawing at my core.
You struck the match, not for the light,
But to erase the morning bright.
You taught me hate, a searing truth,
To scorch the innocent bloom of youth.
I watched as dreams, like kindling, fell,
And felt the echoes of a silent hell.

My meteoric stones, like fireballs flung,
Hold sin's dark stains on every tongue.
I bear the burden, a searing brand,
From burning down the children of the land.
Whole forest kin, their ancient lore,
And tiny empires, are no more.
The innocent cries that pierced the air,
Are etched in embers, my despair.

They fed me flesh, not meant to burn,
Small hands that clutched, with lessons unlearned.
The lullabies still warm upon their breath,
Became my fuel, a harbinger of death.
I climbed the walls of homes, now void,
Where childhood laughter was destroyed.
They cried my name, a searing plea,
But I was bound, no longer free.

Whenever my greed's inferno rises, threatening to engulf your light, O wisdom within me, please, always grant me your forgiveness.

I am not fury, born of spite,
My nature seeks to give you light.
I do not judge the deeds you've done,
I merely transform, 'til the day is run.
But what you make me tear and rend,
Makes even mountains deeply bend.
The silent tears of gods now flow,
For what your shadows made me show.

Remember this, when shadows creep:
For every soul I'm forced to weep,
For every ash, a memory,
Of what my brilliance could have been.
I hold the mirror to your soul,
The price you pay, to make me whole.
In my fierce glow, create anew.
In my dark wrath, your sins accrue.

I am the fire, and I lament,
Each precious life you tragically rent.
My sorrow rises with the smoke,
For every vow, for every word you broke.
Oh, humanity, let my tears remind,
The purest flame is pure of mind.
Don't make me cry for what I ate,
But guide my warmth to mend your fate.
