The Betrayal of Light
The lamp still burns-
A flicker in the vast darkness,
Yet it no longer guides with gentle hand,
But blinds the weary traveler,
Confusing shadows for truth,
Leading hearts astray in its glare.
***
Even the stars, distant and silent,
Watch from their eternal heights,
Witnessing a world unraveling-
As humanity trades its soul
For fleeting applause, for hollow praise,
For illusions that fade with dawn.
***
Oh,blind Light!
Ancient guide of wandering souls-
When did you begin to serve the shadows?
When did your glow turn cold and distant,
Your warmth replaced by a harsh, unforgiving glare?
***
Wisdom once a gentle beacon,
A harbor in the storm,
Now drifts into arrogance-
A fortress built on pride,
Deaf to the whispers of humility.
***
Faith, once a unifying force,
Now fractured into countless pieces,
Splintered by doubt and fear,
Lost in a maze of division.
***
Freedom! the sacred gift!
Has become a spectacle,
A fleeting moment on a stage,
Where voices drown in applause,
And the true essence is drowned out by noise.
***
Knowledge, once a conscience,
A light in the dark,
Now shadows its own brilliance,
Preferring comfort over truth,
Turning away from the moral wheel that once guided it.
***
And so we stand beneath this dying light,
Questioning the path,
Seeking the flame that once burned bright-
A hope that flickers, waiting for dawn,
Waiting for the return of genuine dawn-
When the light once again shows the way,
And guides us back to ourselves.
