Becoming Visible

The quiet shadows in where she dwelled,

A thief of her own light, she excelled.

Not in theft of gold or fleeting things,

But in stealing moments, silent wings.

She gave her love in whispers, in disguise,

A fragile act, behind guarded eyes.

Every part of her she softly hid,

A treasure she borrowed, never bid.

She moved through love like a gentle breeze,

Leaving parts of herself in silent pleas.

Not out of weakness, but out of care,

Believing love meant to be rare and spare.

She walked in step, a shadow’s grace,

Leaving her truth in a secret place.

Her love, a quiet, unseen art,

A gentle theft from her own heart.

She learned to hide her pain, her need,

To keep the peace, her love’s quiet deed.

A delicate balance, a dance so fine,

A love that cost her parts of her divine.

But beneath the calm, a silent ache,

A longing for her own soul’s sake.

A whisper in the dark, a silent plea-

To be seen, to be free, to simply be.

And as she loved, she began to see-

Love should not demand her key.

It asks for honesty, for space, for air,

For love to be a gift, not a snare.

The ache remains, but now it’s different-

Less regret, more understanding, more resilient.

She knows who she was, not an accident,

But a choice made in love’s fierce intent.

She chose to love deeply, even if it meant

Taking pieces from herself, unspent.

But now she’s learning, step by step,

How to give herself what she once kept.

How to return what she once stole-

Piece by piece, to make her whole.

No longer a thief of her own soul,

She’s reclaiming what makes her whole.

The love she gave in shadows past-

Now shines in her, at long last.

A love that’s free, a love that’s true-

A love that begins with her, anew.

And in that awakening, she finds release,

A quiet strength, a newfound peace.

Her journey from theft to grace-

A story of love, of self-embrace.
