Love Without Chains

 Love with open hands and heart,

for every bond can drift apart.

The warmth we feel, the words we share,

are not ours alone to wear.

We give our trust, we share our light,

yet hold ourselves in quiet might-

for kindness, like a flower’s bloom,

may fade and find another room.

People are not promises for life,

nor shields from every hurt or strife;

they change like tides that rise and fall,

no heart can hold one heart as all.

What’s sweet today may shift tomorrow,

yet love need not bring endless sorrow;

in knowing this, we learn to see

that loving well means setting free.

So cherish every smile and day,

but guard your soul in your own way-

share laughter, tears, and tender hours,

but know our strength is always ours.

Walk with hope, but not with chains;

give love without expecting gains.

If they stay, let it be choice-

their own true heart, their honest voice.

And if they go, we still remain

unbroken, wiser through the pain:

for love is real when it can be-

not possessed, but simply free.
