In the Luminous Maze

Her allure, a flame in my steadfast sight,
A lively spark that leaves my balance slight.

Her smile;a siren’s summons on the air,
A perilous thrill no guarded heart could bear.

I stand within her radiance, bright yet brief,
While deep within I feel the pull of grief.
To dwell with her-a sweetness edged with pain,
A hollow love, a silent, gilded chain.

Her laughter sounds like music, clear and fair,
Yet shadowed truths lie hidden even there.
Ensnared am I within her shining ways,
Lost in the light of her Narcissus gaze.

She moves with grace, a crafted work of art,
Yet underneath, she slowly breaks my heart.
Her words are honey, yet with thorns concealed,
A beauty by which sorrow is revealed.

I chase her glow, a faint and distant star,
Believing still I might yet reach afar;
But every touch and softly spoken phrase
Leaves echoes of love lost in empty haze.

Her presence burns;a dazzling, roaring fire,
Consuming all my hope and fair desire.
And in the ashes lies my quiet ache:
A love so bright, yet veiled in sorrow’s wake.

Would that I might escape her mystic spell,
And free my soul from love’s enchanting hell;
But here I stand within her shining ways,
Lost in the light of her Narcissus gaze.
