Life’s Own Journey

They told you:
"Give more, try harder, be small."
"Sacrifice your dreams, rise only to fall."
But you were not born to carry every flame—
Nor to play in silence some selfless game.

You listened,
To voices soaked in fear and shame,
_"What will they think?" they always exclaim.
But when storms came, when your soul did ache,
They stood ashore, while you braved the wake.

Let this truth blaze:
They won’t bleed for you when you break apart.
They won’t stitch the wounds inside your heart.
Yet still, they’ll judge from a distant shore,
Throwing stones, asking you for more.

So stop.
Unclench the guilt, release the chain—
This path is yours, with joy and pain.
You owe no one the light in your eyes,
Or the burn of your heart as you reach for the skies.

Choose love,
But not the kind that costs your soul.
Seek those who help make your spirit whole.
Who lift you up when you can’t stand,
Who ask for nothing but your hand.

Laugh wildly,
Without shame, without delay,
Let laughter chase your fears away.
Live not to please, but to feel alive,
To love, be loved, to heal, to thrive.

Forgive the world.
Hate nothing. Harm none.
Let life unfold like morning sun.
See all as they are—then be who you are,
And shine, quietly, like a distant star.
