Roots of the Heart
Wandering through shadows, searching for a light.
The streets felt empty, echoing my sighs,
Silent stars above, indifferent in the skies.
With every step, solitude tightened its grip,
A lonesome sailor on a deserted ship.
Whispers of the past clung like fading dreams,
In a world of colors, I saw only seams.
The laughter of the children drifted far away,
Each joyful moment felt like yesterday.
In gardens filled with blooms, I’d walk in despair,
A heart heavy with burdens, too heavy to bear.
Seasons turned like pages, the winter wore thin,
Still the chill within me felt like an endless sin.
I’d watch the sun rise, but never felt its warmth,
A ship without a captain, lost in every storm.
But oh, how the tides change when the heart learns to heal,
The cracks in the armor begin to reveal
The beauty in connection, the power of a smile,
How a single moment can bridge every mile.
Then one day I noticed, as if the clouds broke,
Voices of the many filled the silence I’d choke.
Among them were those who stood strong and true,
Friends who stayed close when the dark winds blew.
They held no judgment, just a hand to lend,
The quiet strength only shown by a friend.
Their laughter lit fires where cold shadows grew,
And taught me that healing comes not from a few—
But from those who choose to stay, come what may,
Who walk beside you through night and day.
With hearts wide open, they showed me my worth,
Reminding me daily of love’s quiet birth.
No longer just a dreamer lost in despair,
They were the proof that someone could care.
With laughter echoing, we spun stories anew,
Each shared heartbeat, a reminder so true.
In the warmth of companionship, I found my way home,
No longer a drifter, no longer alone.
Through gardens of friendship, we blossom and grow,
Each memory a petal, a vibrant tableau.
True friends are the roots that hold through the storm,
Their love is the light that keeps the soul warm.
The nights are now filled with comfort and grace,
Loneliness a whisper, replaced by embrace.
I was once a ghost, a shadow of my soul,
Now I am the light, a vibrant, joyful whole.
From the depths of the darkness, emerged the bright dawn,
I was alone then, but now I carry on.
Together we wander, we dance through the rain,
Turning moments of joy out of all past pain.
With arms wide open, we greet each new day,
For true friends walk with us and never stray.
I was alone then, but now I find my way—
In the heart of true friendship, I choose to stay.
