Embers We Share

We are not flames that flash and disappear,

But steady embers shaped by passing years,

A quiet warmth reflected in our eyes.

We learned to listen more than speak too fast,

To hear the truth beneath each fragile word,

And meet each silence without fear or doubt.

We tend this fire with patience, touch, and care,

Let trust take root and slowly open hearts,

Choosing to stay when turning would be easy.

There are the nights when shadows test our flame,

When hurt speaks loud and pride demands its say,

Yet still we reach before the dark takes hold.

For what we hold outshines all silver, gold,

A living vow renewed in daily acts,

Not sworn once only, but again, again.

So we keep watch as seasons change their course,

A garden grown through kindness, tears, and joy,

We keep it lit-our love, our guiding light.
