Bharat: The Sacred Soil

From ancient whispers, soft and deep,

A truth arises, secrets keep:

This Earth, our Mother, ever kind,

A gentle hand for all mankind.

She grants our wishes, high and low,

A primal nature here below,

The Almighty’s essence, pure and bright,

A guiding star in darkest night.

Of fourteen worlds, she stands supreme,

A cherished, universal dream.

Even the Vedas, wise and old,

Her sacred story have extolled.

Amidst the boundless, salty blue,

Jambudweepa, strong and true,

With islands seven, grand and wide,

And Bharat’s glory deep inside.

At Earth’s heart, a lotus blooms,

Where mountain kings dispel all glooms.

Nine divisions, pure and grand,

The finest jewel—this Bharath land.

A field of action, karma’s test,

Where weary souls can find their rest.

For sages pure, with knowing gaze,

Proclaim its worth through endless days.

Even the gods in realms above

Must seek this land of truth and love,

To shed their burdens, heavy, old,

The seeds of karma, bravely told.

For here alone, the ties unbind,

A freedom rare you’re sure to find.

Elsewhere, the journey’s slow and steep,

But here, the promises run deep.

So let us ponder, and recall

The wondrous grace that blesses all

Who walk this consecrated ground,

Where ancient wisdom can be found.

Oh, Bharat, land of spirit’s might,

Forever bathed in sacred light.

Not just this Earth, but worlds thirteen,

And distant realms in dreams unseen.

From ages past, through yugas three,

All know moksha’s grace can be

Attained in Bharat’s hallowed ground,

Where liberation’s path is found.

In Kali Yuga, hearts incline

To pray for this blessed shrine.

To be a blade of grass, so small,

Here in this land—they wish to fall.

Such fortune, pure and grand to gain,

A human birth to break the chain.

For any soul, born here, can rise

To touch the freedom of the skies.

What need have we to sing its praise?

When other worlds, through all their days,

Proclaim Bharat’s glory, vast—

A truth eternal, built to last.

With great reverence…
Greetings! Dedicating this poetic collection to the revered Poonthanam Thirumeni, a devout follower of Guruvayurappan, is both fitting and deeply spiritual. Poonthanam is always remembered for his profound works like Jnanappana, a testament to his deep faith and devotion to the Guru.

This dedication reaffirms the centrality of spiritual awakening within the Indian cultural ethos, and the importance of attaining liberation through the path of karma-yoga.

Thus, offered with devotion, this poetic collection—celebrating the spiritual essence of Bharat Mata—stands as a humble tribute to Poonthanam’s selfless devotion and spiritual depth.

Thank you!
